What is mulberry leaf extract?
The mulberry leaf extract is made of mulberry leaf powder processed from the 1st to 3rd new leaves on the branches of mulberry trees in the late spring silkworm period or before frost, dried in the shade, crushed, heated and extracted with n-butanol, 90% ethanol and water respectively, and obtained by spray drying.
The mulberry leaf extracts are carefully processed to concentrate the phytonutrients (flavonoids, polyphenols, alkaloids, etc.) of this herb, and standardized to 1-Deoxynojirimycin (known as 1-DNJ) which is reported to be responsible for the anti-diabetic properties.
